Downtown Disney

We got to Orlando on a Sunday. We left Gadsden in the wee hours of the morning and drove straight through to Orlando. I don't know that I will ever do that again. haha

We went to Downtown Disney when we got there before checking into our hotel.
JP handled the camera. He said he needed to get into tourist mode. ;-)

Um... YES! Going back is always like going HOME.

After we checked into our room, we got ready to go to Universal Studio's for Halloween Horror Nights.

I went when I was working and Disney and loved it(despite being a complete non-fan of Halloween and scary stuff) so I thought we would go again. We went 2 different nights. We intended to go 3 but we ended up skipping on Wednesday, our wedding day. We had watched the videos online and, honestly, we were rather disappointed. The Walking Dead house was fun. But overall, it just wasn't scary.

Disney World Attractions Photopass

Our sweet friend, Viadly, bought us the Attractions Photopass card as part of our wedding present. With this photopass, you have the right to all of your attraction pictures and have the digital copies(in 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10) to any attraction that you ride. All you have to do is take your photo number and special photopass card to the merchandise cast members to add it on there. We only had 4 days in the parks and never spent a full day in the parks. So these pictures capture a lot of what we actually did.

 Space Mountain (1)
 Space Mountain (2)
Splash Mountain. This was seconds before I ducked to avoid completely being soaked.

I married my best friend!

On October 23, 2013, I married my best friend and became Mrs. JP.

We had a small and intimate ceremony at The Secret Garden in Orlando. Gary and Marti are an excellent team and I am so thankful that they helped create our perfect day. It was exactly what we wanted.

We planned our wedding a few months ago. Our immediate family and some of our close friends knew of our plans but for the most part we kept it quiet. Eloping was the best idea ever. No stress or worry and I still had a perfect wedding to my sweetheart.

My sweet friends, Viadly and Dara, that I met 5 years ago while working at Disney came for our special day.

Contentment and Peace

I have always been a worrier and a "fixer". I have the tendency to think, and then over think, everything. Right now, I don't have a job. And while I know where I am going, I don't know what I will be doing when I get there. But rather than worrying and stressing everything, I am taking a completely new road(for me).

I am learning contentment. I think that we too often let the world define what makes life "good" and we confuse our wants with our needs. When faced with changes or uncertainty, you can either stress and worry (which will never change the outcome) or you can rest in the fact that God knows your needs even before you do and He will ALWAYS provide. And when we are focused on Him, our wants will line up with His will and plan for our life. In trusting and focusing on Him, you have contentment that is based on the only constant in life rather than the people, places and material things valued by the world. Those things are so very fleeting. That is true contentment and real peace. I have come to realize that is such a good place to be mentally and spiritually.
