Ann without an E

When JP and I were going over names for our baby we never could agree on a boy name that felt like "it". We knew that the middle name would be Paul because it is JP's middle name and a tradition for the men in his family. But there wasn't a first name that stuck out to us.

But we immediately agreed on a girl's name. We both love family names and I have always wanted to use my mother's maiden name, Rainey, as a middle name for a little girl. We both loved Ann Rainey. Ann is my grandmommy's middle name(my dad's mother). It is also the first or middle name of several special women in my family. So it was an easy decision for us. Following the good, old southern tradition she will go by a double name and be called "Ann Rainey".

I was raised watching "the Anne movies" with my sisters. To this day, the movies are still some of my favorites and they are my go to movies when I need something familiar/comforting on when I don't feel well.
For anyone who is familiar with the Anne of Green Gables movies or books, you may remember the conversation about "Anne with an E".
"...But if you call me Anne please call me Anne spelled with an E."

"What difference does it make how it's spelled?" asked Marilla with another rusty smile as she picked up the teapot.

"Oh, it makes SUCH a difference.  It LOOKS so much nicer. When you hear a name pronounced can't you always see it in your mind, just as if it was printed out?  I can; and A-n-n looks dreadful, but A-n-n-e looks so much more distinguished. If you'll only call me Anne spelled with an E I shall try to reconcile myself to not being called Cordelia."

One thing that we realized as we were looking through all of the family members, they were all spelled Ann rather than Anne. I might have struggled for a few minutes over whether or not to put the E in her name but I figured if it is going to be a family name then it needs to be all or nothing. So we now have our little Ann without an E! And I don't think it looks dreadful at all. ;-)

Disney Movie Love

Life and your body has a way of slowing you down when you least expect or want it to. I have had a busy couple of weeks adjusting to being a manager, celebrating my birthday and going out of town, and trying to check things off of my forever growing to do list. About 2 weeks ago, around the time Tropical Storm Lee came to visit us, my allergies started bothering me. It was just sneezing and an occasional runny nose but it got really bad the last few days. I have had a constant sinus headache since I woke Wednesday. This morning I struggled to make my 2 egg whits and piece of toast. It's not rocket science by ANY means and I definitely shouldn't have been struggling. I went into work for a few hours and then one of the girls replaced me so I could go to the doctor's office. Thankfully, Rachel road with me and we got to visit, the wait was short at the clinic and we got to hit Sonic Happy Hour(which makes everything better, of course).

It is just a sinus infection but considering the doctor said "oh wow" when she looked at my throat and nose, I am guessing it is pretty. ha So, I left pumped with steroids and armed with an antibiotic. I won't even talk much about the issues that the prescription involved. I got it but I have to go back on Monday to take care of the insurance part because they were unable to process it. My fault for getting sick on a Friday and the 16th which is payday/refill day for many. ICK.

SO, I am resting/sleeping off and on. When we were younger we would always watch the Anne movies(Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea) in my parents bed when we were sick. I MISS THOSE DAYS. I don't have my own copies and since I am currently living 4 hours from home, the movies of choice when I am sick are Disney movies. I know them well enough that I can dose in and out while watching and not miss much of anything.

Tonight I have watched Swiss Family Robinson, One and Only Genuine Original Family Band and (currently) Summer Magic.

I have pulled these from my DVD shelf in the living room and have them in my bedroom so they will most likely be watched over the weekend.
To add to the Disney movie love, my mom and I ordered some movies from Disney Movie Club. I am a member and once or twice a year we make a movie order. Always when they have the 60% off deal, where if you purchase one movie at regular price, you get the rest for 60% off. I won't say what Mom ordered since some are Christmas presents but this is what I nabbed.
This was my regularly priced movie which I pre-ordered. I have NEVER seen the Lion King. I know. Shame, Shame... and I call myself a Disney Fan. ;-) I have waited several years for it to be re-released in theaters and I am so excited to see it for the first time in theaters(haven't decided between 2D and 3D).
I watched Tangled for the first time on Netflix a couple weeks ago. I LOVED it!! (*I know it says Repunzel is the title. I only wanted to use one source site and they didn't have the US cover. haha*)
Bambi came with a free VIP pin. Sweet!
And apparently Freaky Friday came with a free pumpkin carving kit? I have no clue. Haha
That's it for this order. I also have a bunch of Disney Movie Rewards points but I am not sure if I want to get more DVDs with them or save them for something else.

There is my Disney movie love for the weekend. I need to post an updated list of what I own towards my unobtainable goal of own "all" Disney movies. :-) Hope everyone has a great weekend!
